OUR LADY OF LA PORTERIA PARISH by Jurgen Austria

             "The ecclesiastical administration of Calabanga belonged to Quipayo up to to 1749. The first church was destroyed by an earthquake during 1811. The third church was built on 1849. The present structure was constructed between 1874 and 1897."

             The Our Lady of La Porteria Parish, which is located at San Francisco Calabanga, Camarines Sur, has been destroyed and reconstructed many times. As of now, this church is still under reconstruction. This church is important for the Calabanguenos especially for those whose houses can easily be ravaged by the storm since this church can be used as an evacuation center during unfavorable calamities.

               We, Calabanguenos, are sure that this church would be more beautiful after its renovation.
